Posture Solution on the Bike.
This afternoon, I was on my trainer bike at the Air B&B that we’re staying in. The place is pretty small, so 1/3 of my bike is in the kitchen, 1/3 in the TV room, and 1/3 in the entryway. I was going up a big climb, all hunched up and nearly rocking off my bike when I noticed my reflection in the TV to my right. That’s when I saw my posture. Upon seeing my lurching hunchback of a body, I immediately straightened up like an arrow. I started playing around with my posture with this new found feedback and did a quick body scan. There was a little ache in my right periscapular area during my hunching. Then, after a few minutes of straightening up, my ache went away. So I held it there as long as I could, referring back to my reflection in the TV. I finished my ride feeling loose and sweaty. Just right.
I will continue to use that TV reflection to assist my posture, and when I get home, I will go to Target and pick up a body mirror for $10 to continue my pursuit of better posture on my bike.
